It’s time for a fresh Start!

Thank you for joining me on this campaign as I seek to become our next Commissioner of Revenue for Radford. I believe that it is an honor to be a public servant and it’s one that needs to be upheld by individuals who are trustworthy, hard working, and dedicated to making a difference while upholding their oath to serve the City of Radford. Our beloved city has been through A LOT in these past several months and we are at a crossroads. We need new, fresh and innovative public servants who will not only put the citizens of Radford first but will also aim to bring out the best in our gem of a city. Please take a moment and look through my goals and vision for Commissioner as well as ‘like’ and ‘follow’ my Facebook page, Kelsey Marletta for Radford Commissioner of Revenue. I look forward to speaking with so many of you this year and I thank YOU for your support!

My goals and vision for commissioner:

• Proration of personal property taxes. This may include a possible relief, outside of the relief that is currently there for the elderly.

• Online submission of forms for small businesses. Many of the small businesses in Radford have stated that this would be a very helpful service.

• Active engagement with citizens. Citizens need to know that their voices are heard. As with the current Commissioner’s policy, my door will remain open to ensure that all citizens know that they are represented and advocated for.

• Advocate for citizens to City Council. I believe that the Commissioner should present to the council on matters that are brought forward to the Commissioner that would be crucial to the best interests of the citizens.

• Explore other innovative ideas to enhance revenue collection and administration. As the City of Radford is looking at ideas to generate new revenue, the Commissioner should work alongside the new City Manager and other City employees to make revenue generation as streamlined as possible once those avenues are decided.

• Committed to cutting spending wherever it is necessary. There is absolutely no need to add notary services to the Commissioner’s office when notary services are provided in the Clerk of Court’s office.
